Tine Thygesen’s shift to "Green Business’ featured in Berlingske Tidende

A year ago I decided to leave my former business interests to pursue green business opportunities.

It’s been an interesting journey with many similarities to back when I was part of establishing the tech ecosystem in Denmark, which everyone also though was “unrealistic” and “bit too much”.

But it happened, and today all companies are technology companies, and all companies employ innovation and “startup methods”. “Nothing is more powerful than an idea whose time has come.” said Victor Hugo, and he will be right again.

Green business is unquestionably taking over, and it’s the biggest entrepreneurial opportunity of our time.

We can start the transition towards sustainable business now, even though we don’t yet have all the answers or technologies. Those will be invented along the way, as it has happened in all other industries in growth.

We must be pragmatic, yet ambitious. We have plenty of low hanging fruits to start with. Among those are green energy (in many countries easily accessible) and move your pension to an ethical investor. That, together with ‘radical transparency’ from business, come next.
