Tine Thygesen joins board of new Coop Invest
I’m pleased to be able to share that I will be joining the board of a very interesting new investment company; Coop Invest.
Coop Invest is owned 100% by Coop, the danish super market giant. The company will actively invest in technologies and companies that can strengthen the long-term position of Coop, as well as manage a portfolio of non-grocery companies owned by Coop, including FDB Møbler and Coop Folkeskove.
I’m excited to take on this new responsibility which I consider a great match for my long experience with digital business and subsequently large network of tech investors and startups. Many tech companies develop impressive technologies but struggle to get these integrated into large companies. In Coop Invest we will not only be able to contribute with monetary investment, but equally importantly with hand-held introductions to one of the largest grocery chains in the country. Coop runs a whole range of companies that serve millions of Danes every day in a wide range of industries - that access is almost impossible to access for startups today.
Coop is already a digital front runner in the grocery world. I’m excited to be able to scout for further technologies that can strengthen this position now and in the future.
I’m equally excited to be involved with growing Coop Folkeskove, a private large-scale forest planting initiative by Coop, supported by ordinary Danes..
Technically, Coop Invest is an existing entity which has previously been predominately passive. It is now strengthened with a daily team and an active board, as follows:
Managing director: Jan Madsen
Board members:
Stine Bosse
Lasse Bolander (chair)
Tine Thygesen
Morten Windfeldt
Official launch information from Coop: Coop Invest søger startups og early stage virksomheder inden for fødevarer og digitale kundeløsninger.
